Program in Planetary Science
PROGRAM CHAIR
Benjamin Weiss
The Program in Planetary Science, PPS, is the academic research program in EAPS concerned with planetary science.
Planetary science research in EAPS explores the physics, chemistry, and geology of the solar system system and exoplanetary systems. Our research areas include the formation and evolution of solar system bodies, the dynamical evolution of planetary systems, and the nature and histories of planetary interiors, surfaces, and atmospheres. EAPS planetary scientists use a diversity of tools, including laboratory measurements of planetary samples and their laboratory analogs, fieldwork, spacecraft observations, telescopic observations, and computation and simulation.
