Affiliated Groups
Intersections across sciences and into engineering fosters a strongly collaborative environment, both within EAPS as well as across the Institute with strong collaborations with AeroAstroCEE (Civil and Environmental Engineering), MechE (Mechanical Engineering), MITEI (MIT Energy Initiative). Faculty members hold joint appointments in AeroAstro, Physics, Chemistry, and CEE

Collaborative Programs
Many in EAPS team up with colleagues across the MIT campus and with other institutions to perform interdisciplinary research. Showcasing the collaborative nature of the department, these informal groupings conduct research on topics ranging from astrobiology to digital geology.
