Yu Liu
Postdoctoral AssociateResearch Description
Yu Liu joins the MIT Center for Global Change Science (CGCS) as a research scholar. She interprets global measurements of anthropogenic greenhouse gases and ozone depleting atmospheric gases selected from the tracer gases observed in the MIT led AGAGE global network. She also applies state-of-the-art 3-dimensional Eulerian and Lagrangian atmospheric circulation models with statistical techniques (Bayesian, kalman filter and etc.) to solve the involved inverse problems. Her primary goal is to determine emissions, transport rates and mechanisms, loss rates and mechanisms, ozone depletion and radiative forcing by these gases at the country level to hemispheric level around the world.
Yu Liu was awarded a PhD in environment science from Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zürich (ETH) and MSc in Cartology and Geographic Information System(GIS) at Beijing Normal University.
