Research Description

I am a climatologist who studies climate risk, including the processes by which anthropogenic global warming could intensify the risk of extreme weather and climate dynamics.
My current research in Professor Kerry Emanuel’s research group focuses on understanding the dynamics of compound weather hazards from Tropical and Extratropical Cyclones in a warming climate. I develop cutting-edge and physics-based computational frameworks to quantify the risk and economic damages from the compound hazards of future Tropical and Extratropical Cyclones in coastal cities.
The findings of my interdisciplinary research help enhance the resiliency of the human community, coastal cities, and infrastructure systems against the intensifying risk of climate change in the current and future decades.
