Melanie Gerault

Postdoctoral Fellow

Research Description

Melanie Gerault is a geophysicist interested in the large-scale tectonic interactions between the crust, the lithosphere and the mantle. Her research focuses on plate kinematics (e.g., net rotation of the lithosphere and trench motions) and on the topography near subduction zones.

She received a B.S. in Geology from the university of Rennes, France, and a M.S. in Marine Geophysics from the University of Occidental Brittany, Brest, France. She earned her Ph.D. at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles working with Thorsten Becker and Laurent Husson. Then, she worked as a postdoc with Nicolas Coltice at the University of Lyon, France, between September 2015 and June 2018.
