Matthew Baldes

Graduate Student

Matt Baldes is a first-year graduate student in the Bosak Lab. He is interested in the evolution of Earth as a biological and geological system as well as understanding how biologically mediated mineral precipitation and sedimentary structures provide indications of microbial life in the geologic record of early Earth and Mars. 
 
Matt received his BS degree in Geological Sciences and Evolutionary Anthropology from Rutgers University, where he studied depositional environments and stratigraphy in the Turkana Basin, Kenya.
