Hilary Chang

Graduate Student

I have a financial background back in Taiwan and am keen on data
analysis and visualization. With an unquenchable passion of solving
scientific problems, I completed my 2nd BSc degree majoring in Earth Sciences
(minoring in Physics and Mathematics). In my free time, I like paddling on
the Charles River on my kayak.

Research Description

I am currently working on three problems:
(1) Using Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) to monitor changes in the
reservoir; understanding DAS responses, potentials, and limitations.
(2) Analyzing the deformation mechanisms of Carrara marble using acoustic
emission in the laboratory.
(3) Earthquake source estimation uncertainty analysis using Large-N array.
