Research Description

EAPS Distinguished Fellow - Crosby

​Dr. Saverio Cambioni (he/him/his) was born in Cecina, a small town on the Italian east coast. He has a BSc and MSc in  Aerospace and Space Engineering from Sapienza, University of Rome (BSc '14; MSc '16) and a PhD in planetary sciences from the Lunar and Planetary Laboratory of the University of Arizona (PhD '20). His PhD thesis focused on the application of machine learning to planetary sciences. After a period of postdoctoral research at Caltech, Dr. Cambioni recently joined EAPS as a Distinguished Fellow (Crosby) in the group of Prof. Ben Weiss. Dr. Cambioni's primary research focus is the use of machine learning to understand how the formation and evolution of asteroids and terrestrial planets shaped their diversity.
