Brendan Field
LecturerResearch Description
Brendan Field is a lecturer in EAPS. His work will focus on developing interactive digital methods to tutor students in introductory science. He is interested in designing algorithms that make decisions to foster student understanding, confidence, and critical scientific thinking. Brendan has previously taught high school physics for 18 years. He has coached nationally-competing high school science bowl and science olympiad teams. Prior to teaching he worked for 5 years as a computer programmer in the Harvard atmospheric chemistry modeling group.
Brendan earned a BA in physics from Oberlin College, an MS in physics at the University of Colorado, and a MAT in teaching and curriculum from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
