I am a geochemist interested in time scale calibration, the significance of high-silica igneous rocks, pluton-volcano connections, the origins of intermediate magmas, and the links between high-flux magmatic events and ore mineralization. I use isotope geochemistry, including high-precision U-Pb zircon geochronology and whole rock Sr, Nd, and Pb systematics, to better understand ash bed chronostratigraphy, the timing of pluton emplacement, magma accumulation rates, and magma sources in the Sierra Nevada batholith and the Colorado Mineral Belt. I also apply radiogenic isotope analyses to waters, soils, and archaeological samples.
