EAPS is delighted to share the news that our Administrative Officer (AO) Michael Richard is among the eight winners of a 2014 Infinite Mile Award. The Infinite Mile Award recognizes School of Science staff members who have gone "above and beyond" their required duties.  In addition to a cash prize, awardees will be honored with a luncheon in April.

Michael Richard's nominees included Head of Department Rob van der Hilst, Human Resources Administrator Karen Fosher, Associate Department Head Timothy Grove, and professors Thomas Herring, and David McGee.

In his nomination letter Van der Hilst reflected "As a role model of professional commitment [Michael has] quickly stepped up to the plate to make much needed changes: He successfully reinstated many of the essential day-to-day workflows that had fallen into disuse, helped all staff members understand their job responsibilities better, setting clear expectations for each. Most of all, through his excellent leadership and genuine care for people and community he has managed to raise morale very quickly and motivate all to do the best job possible."

Michael Richard originally joined EAPS in July 1999. After taking on the role of interim AO at the end of April 2013, he became AO in August 2013.

Congratulations on this well deserved award.
