COG3 Seminar: Darby Dyar (Mount Holyoke College)
"Calibrating ChemCam: Probing the Red Planet at Arm's Length"
Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) may well be the future for in situ geochemistry on Earth and elsewhere in the solar system. Development work for the ChemCam LIBS instrument on the Curiosity rover showcases the unique capabilities of LIBS for studying composition and surface mineralogy on Mars.
