EAPS welcomes talented and inquisitive students, postdoctoral researchers, and faculty interested in pursuing both the underlying questions and the practical applications of geoscience. Our creative faculty members and researchers—representing the earth, atmospheric, and planetary sciences—work together across discipline borders to understand the fundamental processes that define the natural systems around us. This collaborative environment fosters novel ideas and encourages new insights for understanding the past, present, and future of the Earth and its systems.


The EAPS department has 39 faculty members, two of whom have primary appointments in Civil and Environmental Engineering. In addition, the department is home to 165 graduate students, 42 undergraduate students, and more than 80 research staff, postdoctoral appointments, and visiting scholars.
